They’re never going to want to learn from people that they perceive to be, or are, attacking them. Especially not when it’s reinforcing the words of the people they learn from. Be the exact opposite of what they’re told to expect and with some luck they may start to question what they’ve been fed.

It’s definitely frustrating at first but in my experience it’s a lot easier to make progress with these people by working around what they’re being told about their opposition. It makes it much easier to explain how some of their beliefs are wrong.

I guess I’m looking more for a solution to the problem. Even if it isn’t these people have been told that being called fascist is an attack on their character rather than their beliefs.

When they are inevitably called fascists and the words of the people they’re listening to are realized, it just separates them further from the possibility of leaving their echo chamber.

The problem is most of them, while right wing, are not and don’t perceive themselves as fascists. However, the ideologues they listen to are telling them that they’ll be called fascist because of what they believe and all it does is reinforce their beliefs when it happens.
