Dark Souls Remastered (Nintendo Switch)
November 16, 2025 at 2:31 AM
The first time I played Dark Souls, I really didn't like it. But then I kept playing and playing and playing, and now, on my fourth playthrough, I've finally reached a point where I can say I liked it. That's what my latest article is about!

The playthrough I finally started enjoying Dark Souls
I’ve played Dark Souls a total of four times… This is the first one I actually enjoyed.

A Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly remake was announced. I have concerns.
#FatalFrame
I have questions about the Fatal Frame 2 remake
Namely, are we just gonna keep remaking the games that are already popular?

Turning 30 matched perfectly with my recent personal developments, and so I thought it made sense to celebrate the occasion with a small reflection piece. Long story short, I feel good for the first time in my life, and it couldn't have happened if I didn't try to end it.

In my first-ever music article, I talk about my love for the legendary French song Je suis malade and how it put into words the horrible heartbreak I went through four years ago. Oh, and also its Dutch variant and how eerily it applies to my experience of trying to find love in the Netherlands.
Je suis malade, Ik tel m’n dagen, and the kind of love that makes you ill
Have you ever experienced a heartbreak so profound it actually made you ill? I have. Let me tell you about it — and the song that captures those feelings perfectly.

One of the granddaddies of survival horror is finally being honoured with a remake. I am pleased with the news, albeit understandably cautious about the prospect of Bloober Team tackling my favourite Silent Hill game.

In my latest article, I talk about my feelings towards Saints Row: The Third Remastered, Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, Devil May Cry 5, and Darkest Dungeon. Check it out!

Kicking and screaming, I’ve finally finished this latest edition of Play Archive which focuses on some of the games I played in 2024.

You might be wondering why someone would write about Jewel of all bloody things... Well, let's just say there's a good reason for it.

I need to talk about Microsoft Jewel 2 or else I’ll explode and die
This article is definitely just about the mobile game Jewel and totally nothing else. Defos.

This past summer I got to check out three (fairly) recent Resident Evil games that I'd never played before. I ended up quite liking them, so here's what I thought:

Playing good Resident Evil games for a change
Sound the alarm: I’ve played three new Resident Evil games that didn’t suck! What a treat!

So I watched the Netflix Tomb Raider show, and unsurprisingly wasn't thrilled with it. I'm really tired of Survivor Lara and I just can't keep consuming media about her "not quite being the tomb raider 𝘺𝘦𝘵". Read more of my depressing thoughts here:

I’m sick of stories about Lara Croft becoming the Tomb Raider
There’s a new Tomb Raider thing out. It’s not very good, so here’s me complaining about it.

My newest article is about Life is Strange 2 and how bizarrely inconsistent it is in its quality. I was crunching pretty badly on this one, but I think it turned out surprisingly well.

My complicated feelings about Life is Strange 2
Life is Strange 2 is a weird game that fails at about as many things as it succeeds at, which makes it captivating to think about and discuss — so let's do just that.

While I'm hard at work on my next article (which'll be about Life is Strange 2), let's see if I can give my last one a bump here. I wrote about Resident Evil: Damnation — the 2nd animated RE movie — and why I think it's the best of the bunch. Read it ⤵️ 💙

Why Resident Evil: Damnation is the best animated RE movie
Resident Evil's CGI movies suck. Except for this one! This one's good, and I am happy to elaborate on why that is.

Re-watched the live recording of Mylène Farmer's fifth concert, Stade de France. A+ production, all the hits you'd expect, but a bit too long even by Mylène's standards. The concert also didn't include the phenomenal Si J'avais Au Moins performance at the end for some reason which I thought was odd.

So I re-watched Mylenium Tour, Mylène Farmer's 3rd concert. Never been a huge fan of it, but it's still a competent enough show. Highlights:

• Beyond My Control
• I'll n'y a pas d'ailleurs
• Dessine-moi un mouton
• Pas le temps de vivre
• Dernier sourire
