You can use termux or an alternative to disable that functionality, I don't remember the exact commands but it's regarding child processes. I had to do it myself on a Samsung tablet to get a VNC working properly. No root required for it, although root is more powerful obviously.

If you're considering those two, you might as well just root it instead. Which also isn't advisable, but at least you get way more capability from the device.
