I think RTD2 peaked with Wild Blue Yonder. It's a high concept self-contained bottle episode where the actors got to shine. It had a solid mystery, it was creepy and it was fresh. Everyone thought it would be a nostalgia fest but it ended up being the closest thing this era has to quintessential Who

Touhou ~ Embodiment of Scarlet Devil

The soundtrack is filled to the brim with iconic songs like Apparitions Stalk the Night, Beloved Tomboyish Girl, Lunar Clock ~ Luna Dial, U.N. Owen Was Her, Locked Girl ~ The Girl's Secret Room, The Young Descendant of Tepes, Septette for the Dead Princess, etc.

Finally we're on our last novel Fear Death by Water by Emily Cook. This Fifteenth Doctor story is a tribute to Grace Darling, famous for rescuing survivors of a shipwreck. It's a well researched, ambitious tale filled with love. The Doctor is well characterised and the narrative is beautifully done

Now the Fourteenth Doctor's weird as he only has three novelisations to choose from but between them we thought The Giggle as novelised by James Goss was perfect. It has no chapters, just games filled with mind bending puzzles and the way it plays with the medium (and its readers) elevates the story

For the Thirteenth Doctor we went with Juno Dawson's The Good Doctor. In this book the Doctor takes Graham, Yaz and Ryan to a planet she's been to before only to find she's become the central figure of a religion. The charaterisation is top notch here and Juno's interpretation of the era is perfect

For the Twelfth Doctor our pick was Plague City by Jonathan Morris. This one features the Doctor with Bill and Nardole in Edinburgh during the height of the plague. The story is dripping in atmosphere with ghosts, a Plague Doctor taking victims in the night and a plague even worse than history tells

For the Eleventh Doctor we have The Dalek Generation by Nicholas Briggs. Here the Doctor finds himself exploring planets where the Daleks are seen by all as a force of good. The book captures the spirit of Modern Doctor Who while mixing in elements from the audios like the Dalek Time Controller

For the Tenth Doctor we chose Ghosts of India by Mark Morris. This novel has the Doctor and Donna travel to the last days of Colonial India as the country is torn apart by internal strife. It's an underrated story with strange eyeless ghosts, visions of gods and the Doctor meeting Gandhi himself

Moving on to the Modern Doctors we have Winner Takes All by Jacqueline Rayner. The book features the Ninth Doctor and Rose finding everyone obsessed with the video game Death to Mantodeans and disappearing as a result. It's a fun read and the interactions between the Doctor and Rose are perfect here

Now for Crystal's favorite Doctor Who book Alien Bodies by Lawrence Miles. In this book the Eighth Doctor and Sam go to an alien auction where fun characters and absurd ideas are introduced at a breakneck pace. This story also introduces the famous Faction Paradox and begins the War in Heaven arc

Just War by Lance Parkin pits the Seventh Doctor, Bernice Summerfield, Roz Forrester and Chris Cwej against the Nazis. What makes this book truly special is the amount of care and intelligence put into every page in a story that refuses to downplay the horrors of Nazism. It is a must read for fans

For the Sixth Doctor I decided on Grave Matter by Justin Richards. The story takes place on the remote island of Dorsill where people are mysteriously dying. The Sixth Doctor and Peri are well characterised here while the story itself is filled with horror and suspense but with a Doctor Who twist

For the Fifth Doctor we went back and forth a lot but ultimately settled on Goth Opera by Paul Cornell, the first Missing Adventures novel. Goth Opera's a fascinating tale using vampires to explore Gallifreyan lore while shining a light on Tegan and Nyssa's greatest strengths and failings throughout

The one I settled on was Evolution by John Peel. This book features the Fourth Doctor who takes his companion Sarah Jane to meet her favorite author. The story does a good job capturing the characterisation of the two and the banter between them while still feeling like an authentic part of the era

Okay for the Third Doctor I had to go with Verdigris. This Paul Magrs novel once again features Iris Wildthyme who travels freely in a bus smaller on the inside meeting the Doctor who's stranded on Earth. There's also cardboard Mike Yates, space yo-yo's, and killer robot sheep. It's a very fun time

Now for the Second Doctor I picked The Murder Game. Written by Steve Lyons The Murder Game is a love letter to the Second Doctor's era. It's an early Ben and Polly murder mystery turned base under siege story that comes together beautifully by the end. It may be the quintessential Second Doctor book

For the First Doctor I went with Simon Guerrier's The Time Travellers. This book features Susan, Ian and Barbara but doesn't specify when the adventure takes place. Instead the book plays around with the concept of changing time as the characters grapple with future villains and inevitable departure

We would eventually get The Monster Collection and The History Collection but I always wanted to see another collection reprinting a book for every single doctor. In time the 60th anniversary came and passed without any reprint announcements, it was utterly heartbreaking but expected

So when I was younger I was gifted a bunch of Doctor Who books. All of them were reprints released as part of The 50th Anniversary Collection. I fell in love with these novels and it encouraged me to dive deeper into the VNAs, the EDAs, novelisations and everything in-between

Touhou thrived for nearly 3 decades because of its fans and many wouldn't be here if not for these OST uploads. Now after the AI controversy ZUN's manager is having these channels hit with copyright strikes and termination with even remixes getting struck. Decades of goodwill tarnished in an instant
