New update: the fabric came… and as you can see it’s a tad too pink for my vision, but with it being 100% silk, I think I can over dye it to photograph/be more purple. (The base colour is the right lilac though). Sneak peek at the lace Im planning on using too.

I used 2 mm aluminium wire, 1mm spring steel wire and worbla just to re-enforce some spots and they’re fairly sturdy.

Managed to order some supplies thanks to birthday money, so when they show up i can show y’all the fabric and the horse hair braid that structures the bottom of the skirt.

The next step is to make the second corset in a lilac 100% silk dupion. The theme Im going for, or trying to is very “ethereal Vivienne Westwood”. So not too much drama, but just enough.

And I also adjusted the neckline after sewing to be more of the shape I wanted. Sadly, this already nearly fully closed on me; so I’ll be making a second version in the final fabric I chose, with some more changes.
- waist can comfortably come in more
- bar tack/strap

We’re starting with the base/practice corset. Which is made from a corseted mesh. (It’s not as strong as it could be, but that’s a different matter). I used the Fae corset pattern from Sarah Hambly. I just graded between sizes from the waist down because my hips are wider than the size 18.

I wish it was that easy. I have a few designs for skirts I like. Some of them you can blend together easily but its decided which one I'd do first thats got me stumped.
