I saw a post of someone trying to gain a dog’s trust after he was surrendered & it reminded me of Frank (right) growling when I first approached him at the shelter & I still took him home & that was the best choice I could ever make.

He was free bc he had stress-alopecia 😭

Ideally we would be supporting indie authors by buying their books but not everyone is in a position to. A great way to support them is to post reviews, help promote their books and engage on social media” with logos of Blue Sky, TikTok and Instagram Graphic reads: Kindle Unlimited *Not free but not pay-per-book* KELLEN GRAVES Some of my fave books on KU: A SCIENCE FANTASY TAYLOR HUBRARD KU has so many amazing indie authors! There are also a lot of trad published books as well. It does cost to sign up, there is usually a free trial for first time readers. I understand the horrible impact that amazon has, especially on book sellers, authors, and indie book stores. In addtion many indie authors have asked that folks continue their subscriptions/reading books on KU because it is where many folks get most of their sales/revenue. With covers of THE WHIMS OF GODS SERAPH THE FLOWERED BLADE DARK RISE SUNBEARER TRIALS Graphic reads: "But its a digital book and it doesn't cost the author anything so its not like I'm stealing from them" "Its like I'm just borrowing the book from a friend since I wouldn't be buying it anyways" "I am poor so I can only read books if I pirate them" "I'll promote the author's work to make up for stealing it." Pirating books hurts authors Pirating impacts publishing deal renewals. It prevents indie authors from getting trad published or audiobook deals. Stealing an author's book is saying "I like it but not enough to pay you for your work. It prevents authors from being able to post their works to places like Kindle Unlimited It strongly discourages authors from continuing to write because readers don't value their work or respect them enough to actually support them. I don't really know how else to explain why stealing an author's work isn't okay. There are so many things people say to justify it but at the end of the day your favorite author is being harmed by piracy.

Dia de los Muertos feels like the one day a year I get to see my mom. I miss her terribly.

I wish I had more to put on the ofrenda this year but I know they’ll all still come by & be thankful. I miss everyone so much. All but 2 of my blood family are there. It’s bittersweet to have them together. 🖤

This book is making my heart hurt.

It’s so Astarion coded & not just in the hot way. In the centuries of abuse & deep trauma, learning/unlearning sex & desire, navigating new found freedom kind of way.

I’m a little over half way done and already would recommend it.
