For a while I've been thinking about a concept for basically my dream game. I wouldn't dream of actually making it, but making little bits of concept sketches about it is really fun, so I wanna flesh it out more.

I've been watching "A Condition Called Love". It's pretty nice. I can see why so many people called Hananoi a red flag. I think he's far from the worst guy ever, but I can understand why this behaviors give some people pause. I think some of the things he does are pretty cute though

Some infinity nikki leaks are going around about the free dress recolors. There's one that supposedly shows the wave dress as yellow with pastel purple hair. I really hope that one is really because I really like that hair, but I'm really annoyed at all the "piss dress" comments.

How many references do most artists use for their art? I think I use at least 20 to 40 images if not more as reference. I get so surprised when people say they used an image for reference and it turns out it was their only reference. To me that's not really just "reference" it feels like copying?

Oh my god this. I don't even have an art job yet, but ever since I started striving to improve with the intent of drawing as a career my relationship with drawing changed dramatically. Especially since I started college, I feel like a part me is just gone now...
If art is your hobby and you do it as a job, you need to accept that there will be times (sometimes years) where you lose that hobby.
I think it's really unfair that monetizing art is so often framed as "you'll never work a day in your life" and not "you might lose something very important to you"

Artists - just cause you CAN monetize your work doesn't mean you should. There is NOTHING wrong with just doing art as a hobby. I miss it actually. When my art became my main source of income, my relationship with my work changed forever (and often feels way less creative than it used to be).
