It's good to talk about these things, otherwise we assume you're OK. And it gives ppl a chance to maybe think of ways of helping. Maybe a membership drive or sth. In my experience, ppl care, but it helps if it's less nebulous ie rather than 'I'm broke' try 'I need $ more per month to make a living'

Been there. I stopped watching the news a while back other than skimming headlines. That helped a lot. I also try to take a moment every day to 'stop & smell the flowers', just focus on a micro view of nature, like a bee on a flower or a sleeping cat. I think we're not made for too much macro stuff.
