Director of Strategic Research, NYSNA. Katie's husband. Josie and Charlie's dad. I like to bike places and wish there were fewer cars. I hope one day health care will not be a commodity. Content is my personal view and no one else's.
Because they do it too with their covered/defaced license plates on their personal vehicles.

I don't think Nancy Pelosi understands how cops work.

I like it when journalists take a stand based on their beliefs instead of pretending to be objective, but her reporting just absolutely came from a “Brooklyn concerned mom” place. I’m not saying reform wasn’t needed in Calkins case, but blowing it up surely wasn’t the solution.

A lot of people on instagram and tiktok are filling this void and I really enjoy watching and learning from it. Some jump the shark when they monetize to a certain level and bust out the budget busting ingredients, but for the most part it's really nice watching people cook in their kitchens.

It makes sense, if your goal as Instacart is to maximize profits in the most predatory way possible. We stopped using them as soon as we could when we noticed these markups a couple years ago. Great piece! Nice work.

Just filled it out. I’ve been cycling to NFF for almost ten years now. It’s the best way to get in and out, and both my kids have ridden in on the back of my bike as toddlers. The dedicated car free lane is a great thing they’ve added over the last couple years.

Most Medicaid recipients are seniors and children. Not some theoretical basement dwelling incel that probably voted for Ashely Hinson anyway.

Gretchen is a friend from college and one of the most brilliant people I've ever met!

Private funding is a band-aid but a terrible long-term solution, just like why we shouldn't rely on charity of the wealthy as a long-term solution to social aid.

If the dry cleaner is scared shitless that the president will retaliate against them instead of standing in solidarity with their fellow dry cleaners and telling the president to fuck off...yes.

I used to live a few blocks from the stock photo here. Nassau Ave and McGuinness Blvd. Moe's Doughs is on the other side of the intersection, go there for good donuts!

Seriously, every 5-10 years some tech bro discovers the concept of the city bus.

The PATCO strike and Reagan firing 11,000 air traffic controllers, only 850 of whom were eventually hired back, 10 years until atc staffing returned to 1981 levels, antiquated technology...sure it's not the current admin's fault but man the modern GOP is the root cause behind a lot.

I was there too, I laughed so fucking hard at that because they were so genuine and sincere about it. They thought that characterization and all the "rules" elevated their position and gave them some weird moral high ground.

There's also that whole defrauding Medicare thing...

Yup! Actually we bought our home specifically because transit is a very viable option (we live on the Main/Bergen line of NJ Transit). My wife actually takes the train most days, and only drives when we need to get back for kid stuff/appts early in the day.

I love this so much. The Senate has inadvertently championed how government is supposed to work. We fund programs, we calibrate costs, but don't attach weird revenue expectations like crazy supply side idiots. Which is why Chip Roy is so mad, he does want to "pay" for things.

Absolutely bring Wal-Mart and make it the first UFCW organized shop because that’s the only way it will happen.

I remember reading about dying Covid patients begging for the vaccine they refused. This is even worse.
