Je pense que ça va vraiment dépendre du syndicat mais aussi des représentant.es syndicaux (il vaut mieux avoir des info sur elleux) parce que je suis représentante syndicale et mon premier réflexe ça a été de me dire "huuum nope j'aurais pas confiance"

For the first question I would honestly say : it depends on the job and the sector. For the second : no. You can have unemployement benefits for as long as 18 months and on average it takes 12 months to find a another job in France. Our governement is trying to reduce all of those advantages tho'

Sure, and i agree for the healthcare part (we would not lose all of it) but being let go ? Happens in France too (in the private sector at least). It is easier to go on strike here, true, but America also have a history of very organized and effective protests

Yes and no ? In France, employers supposedly can't retaliate against employees who decide to go on strike (but a lot still do). And unless you are unionized you lose your salary (just like in america). But there is a "culture" that makes protesting a bit easier i think
