MOVING TO WEBSITE AND DISCORD! A biannual online pitch event hosted by @LiteraryKat @hannahdsharpe2 incl. moodboards & ALT text, connecting writers with agents & acquiring editors. NEXT EVENT: THURS NOV 9/23 8a-8p ET!

We are by no means cancelling our platform entirely, but we must cancel November's event so we can take the time we need to re-establish our platform elsewhere as Twitter/socials is no longer the place to hold pitch events.

Thank you for your patience and understanding! We hope this solution will be beneficial for all involved, allowing access to critical information on socials and not silencing anyone's voices while still providing a dedicated place for writers to pitch their hard work.

Change isn’t easy, but we’re hoping this will be a great change for the #MoodPitch community. We’re envisioning many wonderful things for the future of #MoodPitch. Please bear with us as we make this quick but necessary change (it takes a lot of volunteered time and effort to do these things!) 🙏🏻😊

Change isn’t easy, but we’re hoping this will be a great change for the #MoodPitch community. We’re envisioning many wonderful things for the future of #MoodPitch. Please bear with us as we make this quick but necessary change (it takes a lot of volunteered time and effort to do these things!) 🙏🏻😊
We feel this is a safer option in terms of privacy, and it avoid the algorithm mayhem that is social media posts. Additionally, it’ll prevent unwanted likes from anyone who isn’t an agent/editor.

For clarity: the event is still taking place at the scheduled time (Nov 3-8 for #PreMoodPitch and Nov 9 for #MoodPitch), but it will be on Discord and our website to free up space on socials for world news and info. We will follow up with more details and instructions shortly!

We also encourage folks to consider donating to a charitable organization aimed at helping those directly impacted by the horrible things happening in the world. Please feel free to reply with a link to a trusted organization you've donated to.

Discord channels will be set up to run #PreMoodPitch activities; connect with other writers; share pitches; practise pitches, moodboards, and ALT text; ask questions, etc. We have plans to expand #MoodPitch and the website and Discord server will allow for that.

Therefore, we have decided to move our event to a website-based and Discord-based platform. Writers will submit their pitches in a form, and we will collect them in a safe space where agents and editors can search and ❤️ them.

It is incredibly close to our scheduled event, leaving us with a challenging task in a limited time, but we are kind, caring, respectful people who listen to the concerns of others and do our best to find workable solutions.

We want to be as respectful as possible to all parties while continuing to provide a safe and positive space for writers to connect with industry professionals and each other.

We've had multiple people ask us to cancel or postpone, some who have suggested moving to a different platform so as not to block critical info from being seen in feeds, and some who have begged us not to cancel or postpone.

Planning our November event was in no way a deliberate decision to ignore what's going on in the world. As businesses and organizations have continued to operate as usual, we didn't realize a pitching event was an issue.

It takes a LOT of work to run these events and even more to set something up that allows for more control of privacy, but know that we are taking your concerns into consideration.
