Finished the HVAC fix! Scraped off as much rust as I could, cleaned up the area, and attached a steel plate. There’s still rust, but it’s just superficial. Any more work would be solely for aesthetics.

THE EVIL HAS BEEN DEFEATED!! Just removing four screws inside of it took sooooo much effort. They were flathead and rusted into the ducting. You can see how bad the humidifier ruined things. TRASHED!!

Water inlet removed! Also found out it had a solid drip, so I had to use a wrench to close the outlet valve. There’s still a bit of water in the humidifier, but a lot less so now.

My solution is silly: keep the water inlet plunger pressed down to allow fresh water to cycle in and drain the stagnant water. Then I’ll siphon the rest out.

The issue with the humidifier* is that it has a pool of what looks like black tar sitting in it. That’s just stagnant water which has been sitting for god knows how long.

Had a defective water softener in the house I bought. Got quoted for like $1200 to remove it. Did it myself without paying a penny.

The Google app has nothing to do with that. The Google Phone app is separate. The only Google/AI package that affects the Phone app is in the attached screenshot. And disabling/removing it only disables the AI features like Call Assist.
