Big ol' proud 🇨🇦 cat lady. Likes animals, street art, cool science. Trying to be calm and factual in political/cultural turbulance. From Alberta when it was nice; now in the last time zone, the Island. Foot in three platforms.
The only time I learned to use cardamom was with Nigella’s forgotten cookies. Search them! They’re worth it, but it takes a long time to chop pistachios without reducing them to crumbs and dust. And use a wee fewer mini chocolate chips.

This is a pretty memory from Alberta when it was nice. All pure and clean and energizing.

->cost almost doubled the day they switched from ICBC to Alberta’s insurance (where they took off the cap). And of course this StatsCan graph showing cost increase over one year when they took off the cap amazes me.

Actually he has monetized it…by being so disgusting to moderates that he gives his followers permission to be just as nasty. That translates into donors.

Last year they said they forgot to renew an order, then they admitted it was planned. They shunted much of the vaccine problem to private sources like Shopper’s pharmacies, etc.
Break the system; make a bundle letting others “fix” it for ca$h.
Babies were swept up in the shortage😡 (Highlighted)

This is why we don’t dump Roundup in streams to make them clear. Critters eat what grows in them. Healthy streams have more water running through, which means more rains. That seems less likely a decade or two down the road.🌱

Yesterday’s Canuckle (a Canadian version of Wordl).
I’m really proud 🇨🇦 led the way to eradicate polio. We now have far fewer little graves in cemeteries and far fewer kids in braces.
A girl on my school bus got
it months before the vaccine arrived in our school. She died in her teens

Jealous of the BC person who had the first killing frost.
I can’t take in the begonias to snap off the dried stems and bag them in the garage for winter without a killing frost to drive the nutrients down into the corms. I hate doing that in November with cold red hands and a winter jacket.

I found this photo (neat, eh?)
I put out a call for where it came from. Then I did my first image search. (yes, I’m old.)
It’s in Iceland, and there’s more!

Nothing of great import here. I just ran across this and chuckled.

We have a raptor problem.
I made a little shade garden of veg, mints and overgrown spikes as a visual shrubbery to disguise Penny from passing eagles. Not as good as holly but helpful. We have two families of three each, bald and golden, that circle the mountainside “just checking” twice a day.

Unless, of course, you have an enthusiastic toddler or a fascinated cat that keeps bopping the roll, watching the paper unroll down in a pile below the roll.

This happened as she was returning from a joint NATO leaders’ trip to support Zalensky at the White House
They dropped everything to go there. Why? Because they had intel about Russia’s plans.
Why did Russia try to crash the plane of the EU leader who reps the most countries?
To send a message.

🌱We have a caterer called Judy here in the Bay. When there’s a fancy-schmancy function, like New Year’s or a formal tux ‘n gown event, they call Judy.
She has Paring Knife Skills!

We have a few herds around here. When we do scavenger-hunt/car rallies or such, the owners put the feed near the front fence so people can get good pictures.
