It's been a year since I started going to my local art school for painting classes.
Here's my (in class) progress (I'm still pretty proud of how the teapot turned out.) I was just developing a sense of colour and how to handle the paint back then. Now I feel miles more confident.

I've moved on from "AAAAA" and now I'm amusing myself with "EEEEE"
These are my most recent cherry with walnut inlay tests with one coat of hard wax oil slowly drying on them -- noting that I really should align the tile & letter wood grain next time, and they'll get at least two coats of oil.

I hate charcoal so much. The feel of it in my fingers. The sound of it on paper. Blurgh. But... I hate it a bit less after today.

The evolution of a painted portrait. Approx 90 min, limited palette (ultramarine blue, burnt sienna, titanium white and a hint of yellow ochre that I immediately hated and avoided after one try), oil on canvas board.

There were more crab apples, but I painted them out in the last 5 min of class because I thought they were making everything look a bit unbalanced.

Yesterday I thought "let's do more dominant and non-dominant had drawing practice and throw in some writing for good measure."
Today I moved some furniture and messed up my left hand ring finger. The irony of hurting my off-hand as I start relying on it for this little project is not lost on me 🤦♀️

I really love continuous line drawing, so here's my left hand drawn & coloured by my right hand, and my right hand drawn & coloured by my left.
