It's interesting to see yet another incarnation of Crossbows & Catapults. 42 years and counting! I previously found five different versions of the game, including a Greek version -- all or most of them from different manufacturers.

Translation (doesn't say Monster Fantasies like I assumed, although the English-language version of this same set does; I wonder whether the word Ultra could be a reference to Ultraman):

That's extremely helpful. Thank you very much!

How did you do that? Did you have to type all of that into the translator, or were you somehow able to copy & paste it (which I haven't figured out how to do yet)?

@hokutoandy.bsky.social Are you capable of translating the text on this Baragon family tree?

Please do!

I messaged you links to the best available photos of that pachimon manga. Aside from the words "Kamacuras" [sic] in reference to the lizardman pachimon and "Sky King" in reference to the mandibled pachimon, I haven't been able to get any other translations. Will you please try?

Sky King's resemblances with Titanosaurus include the very similar pectorals & the fairly similar head fin. Vague similarities to Black King include the word "king", the fire breath (although Black King's was originally just a thin heat ray) & the horizontal lines on the legs. Almost no similarity!

The pachisaur figure is definitely based upon the manga Sky King; no one's doubting that. The only questions here are whether the Titanosaurus &/or Black King ultrakaiju were sampled to create Sky King. Titanosaurus bears little resemblance to Sky King, but Black King bears even less resemblance.

There have been many different manufacturers over the decades. The real question is who was the *original* manufacturer, and -- moreover -- the original sculptor. In my opinion, the earliest known pachisaurs set is the oriental version of the "Monster Fantasies" set.

Note the pectorals & head fin on both Titanosaurus & the Sky King (Umber Hulk) pachisaur figure. Titanosaurus has pectorals very similar to Sky King and also a head fin fairly similar to Sky King, whereas Black King has neither -- and frankly bears little resemblance to Sky King aside from its name.
