George Washington believed that a house fit for a president should reflect the modest, by-and-for-the-people government he was striving to create. He rejected the idea that the executive's residence would be a 'palace' and would instead be one to represent the people of the US on the world stage.

Absolutely heartbroken that you and @trickweekes.bsky.social were part of these cut backs. Your talent and presence have been an absolute constant for us from the very beginning. You were at the forefront of those that truly made the fanbase feel connected to BioWare. Thank you for everything.

I think Wit has probably been their target all along and they have just been trying to figure out a way to make it work. They know they couldn't sell him as HC immediately, so they had to find a placeholder.

Agreed. Same with Broken Bow.

I absolutely agree on Broken Bow. It is probably the strongest pilot prior to Discovery and Strange New Worlds.

Emissary is great for Sisko, but it didn't do Kira any favors.

Caretaker gets worse every time I watch it, unfortunately.

I hated the first 6 episodes. Absolutely loved the rest.

This might be the time to mention that autoplay is currently not working for a few select shows on Paramount+, Lower Decks being one of them. It's a pretty widespread problem that came with the app update about a month ago. It makes binging a bit more of an inconvenience.

"Independent investigative journalism" is the key here and cannot be understated. Do not allow corporate media to control the narrative.

I imagine Enterprise-Gs are disqualified from Titan incidents?
December 11, 2024 at 2:41 AM
I believe I can partly answer this by pointing as several factors.

1. Season 2 underwent a showrunner change AND was written remotely during the pandemic.

2. Terry Matalas shifted focus to S3 halfway through S2, leaving Akiva Goldsman as the sole showrunner.

3. The network asked for rewrites.

We've come full circle, back to what is essentially radio broadcast dramas.

Pike's quarters seem to have been inspired by the captain's quarters of older sailing ships from back in the day, which were quite spacious. Here's the captain's cabin of the HMS Warrior, for example:

If we're being fair, Babylon 5 had more than its fair share of open flames, and larger quarters with stoves and such. At least Pike's fireplace is a safe and contained area for that specific use.

This isn't a criticism. That shot just looks so much like modern Trek to me. Even the ship looks Starfleet-ish from that angle.
