MONOLUXE brings you sophisticated pop constructions enveloped in lush atmospheric soundscapes and topped with bittersweet lyricism. Sometimes. Other times they just rock. monoluxe.com

Today's office... except I'm not using any of the fun stuff because I'm distracted by, you know, work tasks that need working on. The guitars are all off their wall hangers ready to go because I *was* working on something... but that'll have to wait.

I have tons of tracks pulled together into albums that don't actually get released. This is a set of ambient instrumentals. Maybe someday.

A new Monoluxe single arrives 9/15. “Everything You See” is a bombastic blast of guitar, bass, and drums. The B-side, “Blind”, is full of pianos, E-bows, and lines like "your siren songs are calling me". Make of that what you will.

As always, follow @monoluxemusic or monoluxe.com for the latest.

I sometimes have to do weird things to get the result I'm looking for. Or, listening for?

Thrum was released as a B-side. But really it should've been a single. So here's some cover art. This song strays from my usual themes of imagined heartbreak and lost youth and such, and celebrates domesticity... yes, finding comfort in the regular pulse of everyday life. monoluxe.com/thrum

Planning for my latest music video. I can’t organize on a screen, so I printed out frames from each scene and made piles. Eventually wound up with a storyline that makes sense. Or not. Doesn't matter really. Anyway, it’s out now: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtmY...

I released a new music video, and YouTube showed it to people as a suggested video. These are some of the videos that people came from. I imagine they were sorely disappointed 😀.

(at least I assume I have a decidedly different vibe from either Native Thugz or Clubfeet)

I woke up after the rain this morning. Outside the tiles were still wet and the sky was dark. Inside, there was a grand piano. So....

A new-yet-old Monoluxe song arrives 4/12 after a long journey: “My Old Ghost” began in a hotel room in Lyon many years ago, then got set aside. Now, revisited, reworked, rearranged, enlivened with some real instruments, it’s finally time to boot it out of my brain like, you know, an old ghost.

Finally found a moment to edit the footage I've been sitting on for months into a new music video. Unfortunately I realized I haven't released the song yet. I guess I should do that...

I can’t organize on a screen. I need to physically move things around, make piles, set things aside, scribble notes. So I printed out frames from each scene (it’s video) and spread it all out. Eventually wind up with a storyline that makes sense. Well, it doesn’t have to make sense. #storyboard

11 years ago? Dunno why I was so vague. The unnamed drummer was Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction), and the song was our* single Heartbreaker: open.spotify.com/album/1mn8Ms...

*Oh, other band "The Perfect Nines", not "monoluxe" which is my solo moniker.
