After rewatching the Hearts Ablaze trailer, I'm thinking that this AU is less "Idol" and more "Dancing With The Stars" since the boys aren't singing their songs.

Also the pain of trying to explain why idol boy music is such a happy brr/vibe but it’s not kpop and it’s not western music and the fact that I’ve spent years searching for the same vibe but only finding it when I go back to idol boy/japanese pop???? Halp
