It might be like how there is no political heir. Eric & Ivanka can’t pull off or continue with what he did, even with the same connections, resources and being somewhat smarter and less batshit. They don’t have “it”.

You can’t really interchange any random super rich person with networking skills and expect this result, especially at this level which is already mind-boggling and we still don’t know a lot.

If you want to do something but think you can’t get away with it, you just set it up accordingly and claim incompetence and/or stupidity.
Like, “no, it’s not fraud officer, I just can’t do basic math.”
