Trundling along, doing my own thing, probably drinking tea.
Not to everyone's tastes, and that's fine by me.

Art, crafts, plants... & random.
Mostly Harmless.

Another old one. Have to say Betta fish are beautiful and fun to draw.
...Is it art!? That's for the viewer to decide.

Enjoy the weekend, whatever you get up to!

HUMAN ARTISTS, use only one piece to convince people to follow you.

(( Don't copy/paste Bracketed: Though I am a humanist artist, there's no need to follow me at all. I'm just passing it on because I felt like it - Please go and check out the previous artists Ta! ))

Practice artwork from a few years ago... I could probably do better, but I quite like that it kind of seems to be looking on disapprovingly.

Kalanchoe buds and that first bloom.

...I do like how they look close up in pictures. Almost makes me forget how small the flowers are.

3 new sketchbooks arrived. Not tried this make before, but each are 60x160gsm pages, were cheap & on offer, plus I needed A5. Not one of my usual go to paper brands, but we'll see how they fare... Labels came off easy, which is a bonus.

Anyway, happy now.
Carry On.

Baby spiders on Kalanchoe buds.

Alas I don't have a quality camera, so this is the best shot I could manage with the phone.

Anyway, they made me smile.

For what's left of this year, I will be following the lead of our Flomp Lord.

It's important to recharge.

That is all.

Ghosts In The Snow.
A scaled digital piece I did in 2020.

Without downloading any new pics, where are you at mentally?

Drawing of a jumping spider, Phanias albeolus, graphite pencil on A4 cartridge paper.

Another from the vaults. A demon type character, yeah I know not the most original type of concept.

Ras has a story in production, and this is just a base portrait & Aide-mémoire - not least of all that its wings are strong and functional.

Watercolour, approx A3.

Debating with myself whether I should redo a couple of digital art project in traditional media or not!? There are pluses and minuses to both. Also considering redesigning the armour on the drawing shown.

Hoping I will have a good day tomorrow, relatively speaking.
Hope it goes well for others too.

A Ink piece before I kind of ruined by painting it... It's on the redo list. Next time I'll make it bigger, and add more Betas.

Also, any tips from fellow artists on how to remain comfortable with back pain while creating would be greatly appreciated.

Art is Arbitrary. Everyone has their own tastes and preferences. Like it or not, it doesn't matter.

An artist will create what they want to for their own reasons. If you don't like what one artist creates, there are plenty of others whose work you can take a look at.

Old Ink drawing, first draft.

Another watercolour I did a while back.
Turquoise Poison Tree Frog, approx size A3

I do have new stuff I am working on, but I'm also dealing with a spine that is rebelling. Definitely don't want sympathy, it is what it is and I'd rather laugh about it than be all "woe is me".

Anyway... Carry On!

Picked up the crochet hooks after many many years. Currently working on a freestanding mushroom. Debating whether to make the cap separate so I can easily add some details before attaching, or just change colour and continue?

May create two patterns. Will have to test the pattern(s) anyway.

Drawing of a Harpy Eagle (Harpia harpyja).
Currently Vulnerable on the Conservation Status.

I may try painting one in watercolour or maybe acrylic at some point. The tones would mostly be blues and greys, but that's no bad thing.

Graphite pencil on A3 cartridge paper.

A watercolour I painted a few years ago with ink details. Allowed each colour layer to dry before adding the next shade on the mane. The face and background used a wet wash technique.

Sorting through files today, and realising I still don't know where I put this drawing in progress. Must be somewhere safe, because I just can't find it.
Oh well, not the end of the world - only a minor nuisance. If I don't find it by New Years, I'll think of it as practice and redo it from scratch.
November 16, 2024 at 3:40 PM
I guess as I have just opened this account I should post something... Well, I can't think of anything good to say right now, so instead here's a drawing of a Cephalopod.
