It was a chilly day while taking care of little kids after school until they got picked up.
"Where's your coat, Young Man?" I asked.
6 yo, "Somewhere...(Long pause) over the rainbow?"
I began to sing. 🎶
Interrupted by a 7 yo.
"Look at the rainbow!!!!" 🌈
6 yo, "That is the FUNNIEST THING I've seen!"

Most definitely, and it was only days after losing my favorite chimp pal from my volunteer days. I told my son that Sammy would be waiting to guide Dr. Jane across the rainbow ridge.

One year ago, my front yard tree was looking all dashing and vibrant, but this year it's quite sparse and sad! (I get it, my friend. I get it...)

They all started as strays, of course. She also feeds a family of raccoons and Rosie the Roadrunner.
