This is what the denialism of the oil companies has wrought. They backed Trump and already had firm control over the republicans. Anyone remember John McCain pushing for Congress to recognize global warming? What happened to us? What have we become... is there a way back?

It must be hard to balance the need to inform against our failure to act. Maybe emissions will fall this year🤞

I don't like to see Canada in second place there. We do have problems with smuggling from the US. Urban teens here have been adopting US gang style culture. More and more, we are seeing the influence of the US undermining our society.

We have hole punchers, to be sporting🤔 we do it from 50-100ft away. We use special glasses and gloves to make it look serious.

Then, along comes some guy from Greece with a hand in his pocket and regular glasses, to make us look silly at the Olympics😆

We in Canada are "sorry" too...
Your soon to be leader is a idiot🤡

I include pistols as weapons of war. Hunting with a pistol is foolhardy and illegal here in Canada. The only lawful use of a pistol in Canada is to punch holes in paper from a distance. For as much as that is worth, a pellet would do. I am guessing that using lasers would not be challenging enough😆

It is crazy for citizens to have weapons of war...

Lol... ya, it isn't you we are concerned with😆
Even now, we are not fearful of the incoming clown either. We would just rather be friends and work together😁

Ya know, we in the north keep like to keep things kinda low key. Live and let live, as you were. We banked our win from 1812 and just went on with our lives.

Kinda used to the bully talk down south. Don't make us send our hockey players down there to sort you out. Nuf said...😁

It might be too late for boundries....😆

Is that a "quack on a track"?😁

Hack in a sack...😆

If we just wait a few more decades, the job of "saving everything else" will be way easier when there are fewer species to manage...🙄

I feed a family of crows. Sometimes, the Lord of the Sky shows up, and they... recognize his authority😁

It might just be that war becomes a self limiting venture. Russia has negatively affected its economy and society far beyond the value of any gained territory. Lost oil and gas production exceeds any hopes I had for voluntarily reduced emissions by Russia🤔😁👍

I am familiar with the idea that zero emissions could halt the warming. My concern is that we won't see that anytime soon. So, I am wondering what the minimum threshold is to more rapid warming? I know that might be hard to answer. Would a 50% reduction of emissions by 2050 be enough though?
November 24, 2024 at 3:36 PM
I wonder if you might be able to comment on what amount of effort(reducing emissions) would be enough to ensure we don’t see a surge in temperatures?

You are my favourite climate educator. I always recommend you to those who want to know the hard facts. Our responses will continue to fail until we can have a proper assessment of expectations.
