Often incoherent, rarely serious, thankfully no longer at sea or in London, less thankfully in East Lothian
I think that's the right way but requires a thick skin as the match count is typically lower.

A catch 22, bad matches and the conversations that come with leave people jaded, no matches make them insecure and they start tweaking their profiles.

Prompts also make things quite uniform.

Lucky, I tend to end up on them once a year and the user experience gets worse and worse.

Maybe not so much now usage seems to be on the decline but I think lots of people have looked at a friends for inspiration or went online for tips on what to put in etc...

Think people don't want to have anything off-putting in their profiles, so in an attempt to have nothing unappealing it ends up sanitised to the point of having little true personality. Also a temptation to mimic profiles that get more matches if not getting too many.

Oooft, Liew really held a 2 year grudge because no one found his Aussie accent funny that time.

Was going to say similar. It seems like it should be expensive because of the scale but after finding out how much an episode of Severance costs ..

I feel "don't buy from Lyon" is a pretty sound transfer strategy.

Our best left back?

Not really. The reason you don't ask yourself "where have I seen him before?" with Alan Rickman is because he's so famous your brain answers that question instantly and moves on.

It's support and smaller actors where the question naturally sticks and nothing to do with how well they're acting.

But deeper

It implied I was English (which is kind of fair living near Edinburgh) but still more hurtful than a genuine roast.

Their good writers got poached, so now they rely on a single Barney Ronay knock off that has to write 15 articles a day.

Funnily enough was thinking Football365 had a massive drop off in quality last few months, turns out David Tickner writes about 80% of their articles.

Dunno, possibly a combination of Eze's price, this guy, seeing Berg in training.

Eze obviously great but doesn't quite fit the winger profile and isn't a big enough upgrade in midfield to justify the fee at his age.

Maybe Phillip Seymour Hoffman is the key for good out of sequence opens

Could they not campaign without a leader, then just sort one after.

Don't disagree with that but think similar problems at a midtable side too. Any side he takes over has likely fired their manager, so squad on a low, him arriving on a low, inherited players that don't fit etc...

Don't think there's a clear "good" next move.

Few years ago I'd have agreed but Conte, Van Gaal, likely Nagelsmann and Southgate soon. I think a spell as international manager with the right country could be better than a midtable side, same profile but less consistent pressure and a chance to properly recharge
March 30, 2024 at 5:44 PM
International side probably the right call. Stay in the public eye without the reputational harm of regular competitive fixtures for a few years.

Or he can just go to United if Southgate turns them down.
