Centrist, kiwi, electronic composer - generally looking to engage with non-political or bipartisan content here (games, tv, tech, art) + people who are chill. Trying to reduce politics - Blocking isn't personal, simply feed curation!
I miss having a record player.

I don't think the US domestic terror problem is an ideology problem. I think it's a societal disconnect, lack of life purpose, problem.

Seems like this platform will get investigated at some point. Just sayin.

Trumps economic policy is so precisely exactly the opposite of right, that's turning me into a conspiracy theorist.

I don't even care much about the man, but this shit is weird.

Trump probs won't lower the deficit. With tax cuts and expanded military spending, he'll likely increase it.

Torching previously already strained economic relations with global trading partners, via his trade war is a bad thing.

Don't get into a lot of partisan thinking. Big fails here tho.

Honestly the whole US versus China thing seems like a psyop. Like you as an individual are not really effected by any of the rivalry.

Maybe 3 letter agencies care. But those agencies are probably spying on you lol.

Gonna be hard not to talk about politics now. Maybe I just won't post here for a bit lol.

I wonder what bluesky will do in response to the upcoming social media regulatory changes.

I wouldn't be surprised if three letter agencies end up crawling through this site one day like they did with Parler.

You know why - even if you'd probably frame it.

Hmm, so there's a lot of bot accounts on here, or social media farm accounts.

Accounts that post the exact same thing, the same words, or the same picture.

Was going to post some of my music here, and then I realize there's a 60 second limit on video length (and no, I don't use youtube, spotify or soundcloud)

Social media will poast veraciously when a price chart or exchange rate for a thing they don't like is down, for the one major day of losses, and then never mention it again as said thing starts to rebound in price/exchange.

🤷‍♂️

~100 mute phrases/words, ~1500 blocks + two third party labeling services to filter out most politics, & I think now my feed should serve content I'm interested in.

Need about 100-300 more accounts to follow w/ focus on games, tv/movies, tech, music, neutral world news, think pieces, fun
December 2, 2024 at 4:39 AM
I see social media as a form of entertainment + for seeing news.

So my feed is about ideally neutral information, commonality + vibes.

This is why I actively avoid most of the political accounts here. For my own peace. It's also why I try to approach disagreement civilly.

As someone who did not know about this, and strongly wants less passionate politics on their feed, apparently there is a 3rd party labeler for US politics. In case you didn't know.

To me, block is merely a way to curate my feed, and improve the algorithm. No different from 'follow' or 'see less of this', except that it has it's own particular potency in feed curation.

The feed to me, isn't 'who I like', it's 'what posts I want to see'.

Well that BRICs tariff threat certainly is pretty dumb. Growing USD based debt seems like a global finance liability to me.

When people get unsettled at the prospect of a shakeup in ttrpgs, can't really sympathize.

dnd 5e is just fine, but it's not deep + I'm not sure I find wizards world crafting chops particularly exciting either.

pf 2e is a bit deeper but kind of MMO-gamist. So many great ttrpgs outside that.

When u have to rely on a fairly basic algo, like on threads + bs, being blocked is quite useful to get to a civil topically diverse or relevant feed.

IME, sites like bsky + threads can require extensive block lists for the algo to function well. If someone blocks u, they did both your work for u.
