Friends, one of my biggest dreams is for my book to be in as many public libraries as possible. If you’ve got some time today, I’d be so grateful if you would request the book at your local library! It’s received glowing reviews from booklist and Kirkus, and is absolutely adorable:

I’m looking at the final pass pages of my first ever published book and it’s absolutely surreal to see my surname on the spine. “Hossain” is the Bengali equivalent of Smith and the world is full of hossains, but it still feels very special!

I scrawled the word “breadcrumbs” on a post-it note as a reminder to myself about my edits because I was like yeah, I’ll remember what it means, of course I will! I do not remember what it means

My younger self would turn up in skinny jeans and a chunky necklace, a useless little purse clamped decoratively under her armpit. She’d order an iced tea because she can’t handle coffee and tell me about all the books she wants to write but can’t seem to finish #writingcommunity

Not gonna lie, as someone who was once a nerdy little kid for whom books were her only refuge, it is absolutely wild to me that I am currently mutuals with Random House

Facebook just reminded me of this fortune cookie I got nine years ago, when I first decided to actively pursue traditional publishing. Before that point I had decided there wasn’t a place for me or my stories in the industry. My first book comes out this year!

Friends, I can finally announce this book! It still feels absolutely surreal to me. As an immigrant kid I basically learned English reading Goosebumps and Stephen King in the school library. I can’t believe I get to be a horror writer too now 😭😭. This is such a dream come true

I haven’t done one of these before but I first got my agent in 2018 with a middle grade novel & celebrated the news with my then boyfriend. Well, last year I got to celebrate again, a married lady now and with a publishing vague tweet 6 years in the making. Wore the same dress 💃🏾
