Reading Meg Josephson's Book "Are You Mad At Me" and it brought up thoughts about where we learned that love needed to be earned and how to come back to the part of ourselves that knows how to unconditionally love.

I was recently reading "101 Essays That Will Change the Way You Think" by Brianna Wiest, and her insights on feelings stopped me in my tracks.

"Sadness will not kill you. Depression won't either. But fighting it will..."

Think of your feelings as weather patterns passing through you—temporary, natural, ever-changing. Instead of "I am angry," try noticing "anger is here right now," like observing storm clouds overhead.

When someone asks you to prove gravity exists, you don't scramble for evidence.

You might say, "It just is. Whether you believe it or not doesn't change the reality." There's no desperation in your voice, no need to gather evidence.

What if you carried that same certainty about your own worth?

The real question is....

What beliefs are you unconsciously asking your brain to validate?

Quote from #AliceMiller #DramaOfTheGiftedChild "I'm better than everyone" and "I'm not good enough" is the same coin, different sides.

Just watched the short documentary "A Swim Lesson" directed by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones

www.pbs.org/pov/films/sw...

A movie about the path to overcoming things that seem insurmountable, there's no one right way, we don't have to go alone, but we have to do it ourselves.

Your amygdala (responsible for fight/flight) doesn't know how old you are, it just knows what chemicals to release when triggered.
As you develop your prefrontal cortex, you can let your system know thanks for jumping to help out, but I got this.

The only constant in life is change. Don’t let your best self be your baseline. Allow yourself to attune to your energy levels and know when to progress, pause, and then proceed, knowing it is all part of the process.

“You were not just born to center your entire existence on work and labor. You were born to heal, to grow, to be of service to yourself and community, to practice, to experiment, to create, to have space, to dream, and to connect.”

What has helped me recently is learning that between not knowing and knowing is frustration. And to get compassionately curious about all the aspects of the frustration and how you can be your most supportive internal coach. Doing that time after time helps build that capacity to be resilient.

In our troubled times, hope isn't wishful thinking—it's radical defiance. It is an act of bold courage to be hopeful in the face of uncertainty. The most audacious act in troubling times is believing your actions can reshape tomorrow. Don't just hope for a better world—let hope fuel you to build it.
