At the heart of it all, these children deserve opportunity, stability, and kindness—no matter where their path leads.

Do we regret fostering? In the most absolute terms, no. Not even a little bit.
Will we foster again? That is not something we’re prepared to answer right now.

Your kindness reminds us that love extends beyond the walls of our home. It takes a village to nurture hope, and we are endlessly grateful to have you in ours.

Fostering has not been easy, but it has been worth it, even with its end.

Through it all, we have been held up by the unwavering support of family, friends, and neighbors. To those who have stood by us with open hearts, who have offered a listening ear, held time and attention for the kids, or provided a moment of respite for Drew or me—thank you.

The fear in their eyes when memories surface, the anger that sometimes masks their pain, the uncertainty of what tomorrow holds. Fostering siblings means holding space for all of it and for all the emotions that come with loving children who may not be yours forever.

It means becoming a safe place for them to land, even as they struggle to trust, to heal, to believe in the stability of our home.

There are moments of pure light—shared laughter, hugs of comfort, a whole bunch of “firsts” —but there are also moments of deep sorrow.

For nearly two years we have been foster parents. While we could not share the experience on social media, we have had the pleasure and fortune of sharing the experience with friends and family.
