There are lots of policies that should be improved but I think people's preferences should be taken into account. I live just outside a small city and I would absolutely love if the train and bus system extended to my small, dense little village so I could rely on mass transit more often

But also there are relatively dense cities in America right now that are affordable, have a lot of infrastructure, and are mostly empty, like some of the Great States cities like Cleveland and Buffalo, which are great and have the city things people love!
