Mika’s message to women:

- “Stop the slather.”
- Don’t trust the hype — read the ingredients on the label.
- Whether it’s $12 or $300, you could be coating your skin with chemicals that harm your health over time.

👏👏👏 to Mika for speaking out. /4

These weren’t off-brand products.

They were well-known items she’d trusted for decades.

This is exactly why #EWG created:

- #SkinDeep – ingredient safety database
- #HealthyLiving app – scan products, shop smarter

After years of eye pain, hives and intense itching, Mika was diagnosed with allergies to 3 chemicals used in her cosmetics.

When she asked EWG (@ewgofficial.bsky.social) to review her products, over half contained ingredients linked to allergies, reproductive harm and even cancer. /2

It shouldn’t take a PhD to shop.

That’s why #EWG created tools like #SkinDeep and the #HealthyLivingApp to help you decode your products.

Change is happening. Let’s keep pushing. /3

People use 10-15 personal care products a day.

Many contain sensitizers or hidden chemicals under vague terms like "fragrance."

These exposures build up over time — and can lead to reactions years later.

It's not about fear, it's about transparency and informed choices. /2

Bottom line: Eat produce.

But know what’s on it.

EWG's #DirtyDozen and #CleanFifteen help you shop smarter.

And if you can, go organic for the most contaminated items — it can cut pesticide levels in your body within days.

The scientists created a new “Dietary Pesticide Exposure Score” that links USDA food data with CDC biomonitoring.

It’s a game-changer for understanding how diet shapes chemical exposure.

And it shows: we’re being exposed to multiple pesticides at once, something #EPA regulations don’t address.

To be clear: Eat your fruits and vegetables! They're vital to your health.

But our study shows how much produce matters — especially for young kids and pregnant people who are more vulnerable to harm from pesticide exposure.

EWG scientists looked at data from nearly 2,000 people and compared what they ate with pesticide levels in their urine.

Folks who ate more produce with high pesticide residues (like strawberries and spinach) had significantly higher pesticide levels.
