Just a beautiful issue. JMS kicks into gear here; there’s a moment between Peter and MJ that lasts several pages here and it’s so good. It’s so good to see them treated and respected as actual characters and not just names.

Tho I was cautiously optimistic with the previous issue, I can confidently say that I am now excited for the direction Kirkman has for the book. The little bits of build up and mystery along with the big character moments work great.

It still holds up to Nintendo's usual standard of experimenting with mechanics, it’s too bad most of the mechanics are very fidgety and have to fight the game's collision detection and physics.

Not bad, but you can tell MacKay is rushing to get some kind of conclusion out of this arc before the final issue releases next month. Which sucks too cause what little bits of his usual greatness there are are pretty good.

A pretty damn good time. I like the idea of exploring and even humanizing the Yautjas to an extent. Even if it kind of devolves into CGI noise towards the end, but hell, even that is still enjoyable in a brain dead way. Overall a good time.

For an NES game, the things it does were so revolutionary. And while not holding up the greatest (particularly in terms of its gameplay and difficulty curve), it still manages to be a strong emotional journey.

Not much to be said really. One of the earliest examples of Nintendo's adherence to level design standards, even if Mario's momentum is a bit weird, but this is still the definitive way to play it imo.

It still is a fun time and a great challenge that offers a fun twist of the main game's mechanics, but it's so short and suffers from a lack of variety. I would've loved to see some traversal challenges.

Disappointing cause it's really good but man, it's criminally short. Only 5 major levels with no mini-games, which sucks cause controlling Knuckles in-game is super fun, his story is also intriguing but is barely touched upon.

I mean yeah, the level design and philosophy starts really showcasing a lot of speed and less emphasis on precise platforming (mostly) and while it’s still tons of fun, I still think it doesn’t reach 3&K's level. Still fun.

Kind of a disappointing one. It introduces an interesting mechanic towards the end where you can do this pretty neat attack, but it's barely used and it's introduced too late. Also, it's hella short and ridiculously easy.

I love the concept. Putting Splatoon's unique mechanics, design philosophy, world and characters into a Roguelike structure is so much fun and full of potential. My only issue is how short the main climb is.

Still such a fun and tightly designed game and Knuckles' exclusive stages and paths (few and far between as they are) still add so much fun and replayability; even if he can't see the true ending but still. It's still a blast.

Funny how the best Sonic game in years is conspicuously missing Sonic Team's logo. It's still fun, it's a game that has such a good understanding of gameplay flow. My only major complaint is its level originality.

A great little first chapter in what I think is gonna be a great JMS comeback story. He hasn’t lost his touch to write a relatable and struggling Peter since 2008; it has enough of a balance between action and great characters.

It's PvZ. A game that, despite some of the low res assets and the fact it's locked to 4:3 due to the way everything is pre-rendered, it still looks and plays beautifully. Has a great sense of pace and progression too.

Still the peak of 2D Sonic for me (barring Mania). Sure, it slows down a bit towards the Sonic & Knuckles half, but I think the overall package is still so near perfect.

While it is mostly just tying up some smaller lose ends and setting up future stuff and it features some of Kirkman's writing quirks I don’t like that much, it is pretty good and got me cautiously optimistic for the future of the book.

A solid enough issue, it’s mostly just set up and build up for the finale of this arc before the relaunch in February (which is still a supremely stupid idea) but I liked the small character moments Marc has with Leyla.

GRRAAAAAHHH, THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST ISSUES SO FAR, THE WORK THAT IS DONE FOR PETER'S AND HARRY'S CHARACTERS ARE SO GOOD AND THE REVEALS AT THE BEGINNING AND AT THE END ARE SO FUCKING GOOD. WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID MARVEL?!?

It is certainly a continuation of Millar's run. You can tell that he just does not give a fuck about adapting certain storylines, as a result, the best part of the book is not even written by him.

By far the worst Ultimate Universe book I’ve read so far. I have never read such stupid drivel that makes absolutely no sense in terms of plot, logic, characters or dialogue.

It’s everything I would’ve wanted from a hypothetical Mania 2. While you can still tell certain design choices are still rooted in this being a remake of an old Game Gear game, it elevates and evolves it so well.

This is Bendis at his best. His reinvention of Venom is different but engaging in its own way, I really love the new link he made between him and Peter and I think it’s executed well.
