Welp, apparently if it’s a redistricting matter, you can just go straight to the Supremes, where they will reinstate the blatantly racist map temporarily, until they think of ways to justify upholding it. My bet is on the racism being found incidental , not outcome determinative

It has to get through the 5th circuit first, then may not be necessary to take it to SC🙁

Correction: that provision was removed prior to it being voted on so California gets to redistrict regardless of what happens to the Texas appeal.

I think that the California measure goes into effect only if the Texas maps are upheld. I think.

That was my first thought, but then i realized that with this administration, there would be no puzzlement about who was a “real Jew”, and all would go to the “protection camps” or whatever evil fate they thought up. It literally doesn’t matter to them

There was a bakery in town that made what my German mother called “hard rolls” Chewy and topped with poppy seeds, we split them (not easy) and filled with butter and dunked into coffee with our breakfast every morning. The bakery closed and i would give anything to eat a dunked hard roll again.
