Some friends last a lifetime. It was great seeing my friend « Tink » tonight. We’ve seen each other twice in 30 years. That deserves a photo!!

With stage 4 cancer, I’m a frequent ER guest—like Hotel California for the terminally ill. ECG tech loved my compression socks with a ❤️ rhythm & matched curtains! Labs, Urinalysis, ECG, & CT done, I have a plan to get better soon.

Good news: my progression sites haven’t changed since last month!

Don’t forget to register for tonight’s free webinar “The silent threat: clots & cancer”. Kirsten and I will share our stories and will be joined by Dr. de Wit—ER physician—for this important ssssion!

Cancer sucks, but the cancer community is incredible. I’m so proud to be part of MOHCCN, which includes patients. Thank you to @terryfoxfoundation.bsky.social researchers, clinicians, donors, and the @marathonofhope.bsky.social team. I have no doubt that together, we can Finish It!

Ever wondered what keeps a late-screened cancer patient alive? This + meds only from hospital: Trastuzumab (Herceptin), Pertuzumab (Perjeta), and zoledronic acid (Zometa). Thanks to cancer research, I’m still alive @terryfoxfoundation.bsky.social, I’m still alive. But we need to #ScreenBetterCanada

Some days hurt more than others. It was a 3 poke process today.

Proud to wear my @buffalo-bills.bsky.social Intercept Cancer Hoodie!

Too young for a mammogram, yet it was terminal from day one. I had 2.5 & 5 y/olds. I’m a unicorn—only 22% live 5+ years. Now 6.5 yrs in, I’ve > doubled my life expectancy.

💔 This ~2000 beach volleyball photo in Kitsilano. Today was Kelly’s last day on 🌎. We were diagnosed with stage 4 cancer within a month—hers lung, mine breast. We’re the blondes (hers long). She’s my 3rd friend to die in a month. I’m shattered. 😭

Here is my “gong show” to celebrate my 150th cancer treatment infusion today!

Bluesky doesn’t do rounding like I was taught in grade school. 😆

My dogs—my Jack Russell and my boyfriend’s Golden Doodle—take their job in my post-treatment recovery very seriously. They smother me with cuddles, wrapping me in warmth like a living, breathing blanket. I’d much rather have their job than mine (a terminal cancer patient) any day!

Today is my 150th infusion: 20 chemo, 30 zoledronic acid, & 130 of my two immunotherapies. I told my nurse my veins were in good shape (no port!). She pulled out a tool—like a stud finder but for veins! It’s cool to see it work.

To mark the occasion, I took a selfie. Love the purples and pinks!

I met with my MP, Tom Kmiec, to discuss how @marathonofhope.bsky.social is uniting 🇨🇦Canada’s cancer community to expand access to #PrecisionMedicine for all Canadians.

Excited he’ll advocate for federal funding in the next phase! #CancerResearch

When your nosebleed is so intense that tissues are useless, and you call your boyfriend for extra-strength paper towels—only to sit by the toilet because even those get soaked through, needing something to catch the drips between switches.

Wrapping up my romantic birthday/Valentine’s/cancerversary in style—at the ultra-modern Arthur Child Cancer Centre! This “resort” boasts sunny courtyard views at reception & private rooms overlooking the @ucalgary.bsky.social . And with -30°C outside, I’ll take the sunshine from indoors, thanks!

Cancer turned my world upside down—just like my photo #WorldCancerDay below. Six years & 15 days ago, I found a tiny lump in my breast. That moment changed everything. I was diagnosed with stage 4, incurable breast cancer, and my life—and my two young kids’ (then 2.5 and 5)—was forever altered. 🧵👇¼

A rash showed up a few days ago and is getting worse. I thought I’d have the willpower to resist scratching—turns out, “asleep-me” doesn’t, and even drew blood! Off to the walk-in to make sure I see my doc in the morning! (Apologies for the cringy photos.)

I’m receiving my post-holiday super-power cancer-defense elixir!

In other words, the holidays are over; I’m kicking off 2025 at the hospital to for my two immunotherapy infusions—apparently, my immune system needs a motivational speech every three weeks!

My kids and I had to make a tough decision to say our goodbyes to Skoki (sitting on floor). He is younger than his 1/2 brother Kaslo, so we didn’t expect he would go first.

As we made the decision, my son N was sobbing loudly saying that 3 of us (meaning myself and our 2 senior…
