The beginning of the divide in DC can be traced to the four day work week introduced in an attempt to allow the politicians to fund raise more and work less. When they actually interacted with each other, more got done and there was less name camping and fighting.

Congress critters should be required to make attempts to work across the aisle. To help reinforce the process, they should be required to work together on projects and dine together outside work hours to create camaraderie and understanding.
