I saw someone say that they wished XL had a “depression arc” after HC died a third time and I cannot disagree more
They were saying the reunion felt rushed, which I get, but XL had complete trust and faith in HC. He believed he would come back. Obvi he was sad but he didn’t need a whole depression+

Of MXTX’s three “Villains” I think Jun Wu is the most unforgivable, the most egregious, the most heinous and I think that was on purpose.
MXTX is really good at creating sympathetic villains, and while it’s easy to understand Jun Wu’s character we aren’t necessarily supposed to sympathize with him

Of MXTX’s three “Villains” I think Jun Wu is the most unforgivable, the most egregious, the most heinous and I think that was on purpose.
MXTX is really good at creating sympathetic villains, and while it’s easy to understand Jun Wu’s character we aren’t necessarily supposed to sympathize with him

My favorite characters are often the ones I probably wouldn’t like if I actually met them.
I understand why people don’t like them, and I myself don’t like them at times but watching a character make mistakes and hurt others either purposefully or on accident really humanizes them to me.

I see “unreliable narrator” thrown around a lot when talking about #mxtx but the only series I think this can confidently be applied to is #svsss

the Black Water Arc is my Roman Empire. I think about it 4 times a week minimum. I think of #tgcf and my thoughts always end up on that arc, the tragedy of it all. It was so haunting I loved it.

I really think anyone who hates Jiang Cheng doesn’t understand his character. If you understand his character you understand his motives, why he acts the way he does, why he made certain decisions, and why he did the things he did.
