I can highly recommend this new documentary, The Librarians, about the efforts to ban books in U.S. public schools (mostly orchestrated by outside influences). #bannedbookweek

105 years ago today, Tennessee became the 36th and last state needed for ratification of the 19th Amendment which embedded the right of women to vote in the U.S. Constitution. Bells rang across America. Today, some Republicans are actively speaking out against women's right to vote.

Many museum exhibits and historical markers across the U.S. could use an overhaul. But censorship and suppressing the experiences of women, people of color, immigrants, workers, & indigenous peoples is morally corrupt. Leave museums to professionals & communities. Keep politicians out of it.

A new book to add to the reading list on the history of economic thought. But skeptical of all-encompassing claims to the "scientific nature" of economics, which like history is not free from value judgments and bias. A "critical" approach should acknowledge this, even without being heterodox.

Too bad it is ridiculously expensive.
A bit ironic
for a book promoting ethical capitalism.

A ceo is shot and killed, a nationwide manhunt unsues, a suspect is captured, charged with terrorism, and faces the death penalty. A gay couple is repeatedly terrorized, one is shot dead, and "neighbors quarrel"?!! Stop the campaign of hate, denigration and terrorism from governments and churches.

The criminal and arbitrary defunding of scientific, medical, and technological research, the arts, humanities, and education is sabotaging all the things that made America civilized, successful, and the envy of the world. This is criminal sedition.

The LARGEST PROTEST in history was unique for not being aimed at civil rights or against a war, BUT against a President, his administration, their cruel, incompetent, and illegal policies, and their systemic criminality.

St. Patrick's Day celebrations began in America as political & cultural resistance to anti-Irish & anti-Catholic hatred. They held parades to stand up for their dignity & against stereotypes. The American Party tried to stop them from becoming citizens & voting. The parallels today are STRIKING.

The Declaration of Independence was IMMEDIATELY translated into and printed in German. It was for citizens and there was no objection. America has always been multilingual.
