So sometimes I use chrome's read aloud function to listen to a text article while I work...
Just tried. Its fucking AI.. its AWFUL. It doesnt even read the article its like trying to summarise it and have two fake ai voices have a conversation about the article?!

This is bad on SO many levels.

When The Walls Fall is a superb series of dice driven prompts that combine physical elements with numerical prompts to give you a framework to hang a ruin off. It’s designed for fantasy games but I’ve used it before for SF and it works just as well. Crucially, it also externalises a lot of processes and puts ideas in front of you you wouldn’t normally consider. Crucially…er, it’s also designed to build failed places, places that have broken or died. And that feels like fun ground for both Mothership and my pathological inability to not try and make games a little chirpier. One last thing; I’m not going into detail about how When The Walls Fall works. I don’t want to pull it’s teeth and it’s two bucks for a PDF and honestly I want to encourage people to buy it. Indie creators put everything on the line, I couldn’t do this project without it and I want you to go buy a copy because Mol’s great, it’s an absolute steal and it’s helped me immensely every time I’ve used it.

Something minor I love about crossword dungeons is the difference between UK and US crossword styles.
US crosswords can actually work better for this as they focus alot more on multiple words overlapping which create room shapes. Ive found that UK crosswords often have longer words and less trivia

A comment on itch reminded me of this idea for creating #TTRPG dungeons I had a while back. I still think its neat and I don't think I've actually shared it here on bsky.

So bsky.. meet Crossword Dungeons!
Do a crossword, use the answers and designs as inspiration for the rooms, get creative!
a how to guide for creating crossword dungeons. Step 1 - Find and Do, do the crossword. Step 2 - See Beyond, find the inspiring words and start to see the shape. Step 3 - Extrapolate, ditch words you dont like, create walls, you contol the dungeon. Step 4 - Draw the rest of the owl (make the dungeon from the inspiration). Step 5 - BE NOT AFRAID. Its just a dungeon created from a crossword, they wont always work. Useful tips: Metro for daily free crosswords. CrosswordSolver, for tricky clues. DungeonScrawl, for making maps. LootTheRoom - for more random ideas
