Well, that is conveniently defeatist, I guess the Democrats can continue to just do whatever the hell they want.

Respectfully, I disagree. Some people would, because they always do. But storytelling really matters, and the GOP has spent decades showing us the power of unified messaging.

I have heard them say that. I'm saying that instead of acting like 8 Democrats betrayed everybody, they should have made that the stance of the entire caucus when they voted to re-open.

But again, I don't want anyone to lose sight of the fact that the president of the United States went to the Supreme Court *multiple times* for permission to take food off of people's tables. Like WOW.

But instead they pulled this weird cloak and dagger business (because there's no way I believe for a second that 8 safe Democrats went rogue.) And so it's a whiff instead of a principled stance. As usual.

And, they hypothetically continue, know with *absolute certainty* that if Republicans deny this vote and they refuse to extend these subsidies, they are just continuing to prove that they are willing to let Americans die. And I would've been like damn. 

We will reopen the government so that we can fight like hell to keep your premiums low, but unlike our opponents, we are not willing to starve children to get what we want.

I guarantee he supported it. I was born at night but it wasn't last night.
