That’s so wrong. OTOH, if this turns out to be a crime at some point in the future(and there seems to be more than a whiff of criminal here),won’t Democrats have plausible deniability?

I don’t want a doorbell camera, so ringing the doorbell is the only practical option.

Nah, not buying it.

He’s right.

One of the dumbest missteps ever by federal law enforcement. This is one for the books, and somebody should lose their job for it.

Correct. The new electricity rates might be the worst part.

The fact that Kennedy feels confident dismissing people who are smarter and more accomplished than he is should frighten all of us. Why is he being permitted to run wild and trample all over science and medicine?

Is…is Sean a bit of a snowflake?🥴

Stalin also took ownership of private companies. Something to think about. 🤨

They can keep it. Bet it doesn’t last for 5 years.

What I find troublesome is that the idea of giving healthcare and food to poor children is tied to anyone’s “interests.” How is this a gray area?

Yes, I remember. Isn’t Austin, Texas connected to another grid? Texas was supposed to upgrade their grid after that.

I think Ohio’s problem is that we had some very old ones that needed to go. Hopefully new ones will be able to be built soon.
August 18, 2025 at 10:27 PM
I had to look that up; I should know it. No, there are 3 interconnected grids; eastern, western, and Texas.

From what I have read, not enough power plants now, lack of competition and data centers. 🤷‍♀️
August 18, 2025 at 10:11 PM
Thank you for that info.

Sorry, responded above before reading this. If I understand you correctly, the big power consumer worked with your city re: reducing usage at times of peak demand. That sounds ideal.
August 18, 2025 at 9:09 PM
In Ohio, they recently demolished several very old power plants, so that is part, but not all, of the problem. But costs are rising everywhere.
An NPR article several
Days ago said that regulators have not yet figured out what to do about it. What would you suggest?
August 18, 2025 at 9:04 PM
They need to do something, and they have plenty of money to do it. So yes, Congress or the Courts need to address this. Our electric bills have really jumped this year. Do you really think that the rest of us should have higher bills because they need so much electricity?

I have seen this too. Shouldn’t AI centers pay a surcharge?
August 18, 2025 at 3:03 PM
Sure, halting research into cancer, cutting FEMA to pieces, threatening news organizations who post stories he doesn’t like, putting masked agents in the street to arrest people without disclosing their own ID-what’s not to love?
