I also went for Gun! Closely followed by Mel B in case a second was needed - although hadn't realised her cover was done during her Mel G days

Do they generally blur all brand names on clothes? I haven't watched it since it switched channels so don't know if that's standard practice...

Glad you liked it! I recommended it last week to a friend who loves Chris Brookmyre's books but hadn't realised he had a new one out. She's planning to listen to the audiobook - I think it will work well in that format.

That we don't view clothing manufacturing as skilled labor is because it's work that's heavily female coded.

Imho tailoring tends to get a bit more respect because when we see it on screen it's coded male and rich. Hollywood loves showing a man getting his suit tailored as code for rich.

That sounds good 😊 I've just finished reading Chris Brookmyre's The Cracked Mirror - you might enjoy the interplay between two different types of detective in that

So good to see you back - I was getting a bit concerned not seeing your excellent posts in my feed, so I'm very happy to see this one

Not TMI at all - it's important for us all to be open about these things. I'm glad you're here, and I really hope you continue to find reasons to stay.

Hadn't come across that before but the blurb sounds intriguing - I take it you'd recommend?

Interested to know what you think of this one. I struggled a bit to pinpoint how I felt about it - I think it took me slightly by surprise by heading in a direction I wasn't expecting and not being the book I thought I was getting, but once I got my head round that, I still ended up enjoying it.

Another vote for Cast On - my favourite by far at the moment
