Testing red sgraffito on pink clay body (white clay body wedged with red slip). This is bisqued, not yet covered in clear glaze.

Same but the guest is on Monday. But my nesting bubble rim plates are in point. Don’t mind the cat hair on the duvet.

Making art I naturally think, “Oh, that’s what God was doing here, with this fern,” like I’m a detective retracing somebody’s steps.

Paul Simon‘s concert last night was gorgeous musically, as well as an extremely delightful education in a tiny slice of music history. It absolutely felt like a gift from the artist.

I made a dark and moody canister, and I’m happy with the glaze. Mayco celadon bloom over Mayco black engobe (the latter applied when it was greenware.) I love celadon bloom on white clay body as well.

Mailed these to a very old pal today, thought I’d take a pic first. Done months ago.

Writing letters to a friend hits different when she was your second grade teacher, and taught you to write in cursive. But you’re printing.

I made some nesting bowls! Different glaze on inside of each bowl, Mayco honey flux over sgraffitoed black engobe on the outside. The honey flux turned the black engobe a rich blue color, which was a welcome surprise.

Today in the studio, I could not stop stamping the surface of this white engobe painted tray with black engobe, then gray, and then white dots. Another woman working nearby kept saying that it was so cute. Sigh. #Pottery #Ceramics

I made this little cup, but the best thing is that my friend made me a tactile playlist for artist names I can shout at Alexa.
