First house @ 40th birthday in 1993. Left California for a cheaper state purely for the affordable housing. We did a succession of 3 - 5 year ARMs just to get a better rate. Sold the first house after 5 years - moved into the second and stayed for 20. Returned to California and bought outright.

By the way, the East wing was built in the 1940’s - so it’s pretty clear it’s filled with asbestos. Have fun with that Trumpers.
