I love all birds, but I do have a favorite 🦉🍁

Barred Owl in Central Park, November 2025
A Barred Owl - brown and buff with white striping on the back and wing feathers, and a delightfully round cinnamon roll-like face with large dark eyes and a small yellow beak - perches on a low curved branch over water that is covered with fallen leaves in oranges, reds, yellows. The owl’s back is to the camera, but her head is turned back, looking over her shoulder, out and to the right.
