Grounding my work in behavioural science & social marketing helped me move ivory demand research towards more strategic approaches for elephant conservation & sustainable wildlife trade futures 🐘

My PhD explored the behavioural drivers of ivory consumption in East Asia (mainly China 🇨🇳). I unpacked the cultural, social, psychological & structural factors influencing consumer behaviour. Moving beyond assumptions to generate behavioural evidence 📊

Being surrounded by such a diverse research community has shaped not just my work, but how I see the world. I feel very lucky to have learned so much from so many brilliant people. 🌏

🌱 The Leverhulme Centre for Anthropocene Biodiversity @anthropocenebio.bsky.social has been the most inspiring interdisciplinary home over the past 3.5 years. I’ve worked alongside sociologists, biologists, historians, economists, mathematicians, artists + more. Truly a dream environment. ✨
