While UK politicians rage against "trophy hunting" abroad, here is something else (apart from their own trophy hunting of deer) that they have no problem with: Trophy C&R of bluefin tuna. The fishing equivalent of tiring out a deer, shooting it in the leg, and letting it go to be shot again later.

Yesterday's news that a @washwader.bsky.social Oystercatcher had broken the @btobirds.bsky.social longevity record for a wader (now 43 years from ringing to latest capture) begs the question:
