As someone who loves a good joke at the expense of the clergy, I have to share this one after a friend reminded me that the template exists:

Spent some time #Lisbon last week and took a chance to get some monochrome shots with my #instax #minievo. I really like the ones with the tram cars, but I think I can do a bit better than this with some practice. 🙂

Back in 1840, #AnneLister died in Kutaisi at the age of 49.

Everyone has a grand thing to say about her, but today I feel that we should be realistic: she was a good diarist, but an even better place name murderer.

She was so good at that, she managed to puzzle many a codebreaker! 😆

Yup, sounds like Musgrave. Why bother with repairs when you can just procrastinate?

(In truth, he probably used the Vicar's rate for stuff like the new vicarage, instead of essential repairs. That church neevr seemed to swim in money...)

Looking up some references for an article and came across one of my favourite local history bits: when the Nonconformists were openly rebelling against the Vicar's rate in Pigou's time.

I guess I'll have to update the drone early in the morning and perform the usual post-update flight tests at an ungodly hour too because it's evident that the weather will be vile until next weekend (at least). 🙃

Tell me again how lovely Portugal is...

To quote Taylor Swift: "God, I love the English"

Imagine buying a bear for entertainment with the money intended to buy a Bible! Pearls were certainly clutched hard at Congleton! 🤣

And the view, my god, the view! What a difference! (What I wouldn't give for my dear Beacon Hill!)

Finally put an old photo album to good use with some #Instax photos and I'm kind of loving how these look! 💛

(If they look askew, it's the single glue dot holding them to the page. 😆)

Imagine wearing black or dark colours for years and then trying to signal that you're dressed for mourning! 😅

What I mean: "sheet"

What it sounds like:

On unrelated news: I have a shiny (and poorly cut) Creepy Lister decorating my Kobo. Little star patterns glow when lights hit it and I'm very pleased with this. 😅

I was looking for an undertaker, but found a surgeon with a fancy name instead (the first one).

(Also learned the difference between a pirate and a privateer: the latter does the pillaging legally.)

#Spring vibes on #instax. The blossoms were too pretty, so why not? 🙂

A couple more experiments on #instax: the light leak effect of my #minievo and some nice daisies, and also a few shots from a recent trip to Lisbon.

Funny index note from #AnneLister's journal indexes in September 1822:
"Miss AW [ #AnnWalker] likes me"

(If she didn't, then Lister would've somehow been smothered at some point from 1835 to 1840.. 😅)

Printed a few more #instax photos from last weekend. Really like how the colours turned out.

The clouds on the first photo look a bit like cotton candy and definitely make Lisbon seem a lot prettier than it actually is.

This is what I had.. 😬

First #instax shot in sepia mode to manage the water reflections and mitigate the harsh lighting.

Long way to go for me still, but not bad considering how I was blinded by the sun...

Figured I'd try the #minievo in the garden, so the first of these shots is the result (blue filter + mirror effect; no editing prior to printing).

Second one is an old photo of a sunrise in #Yorkshire a few years ago. Love how it looks printed like this!

Finished my first #instax set of 10 pics with these.
Top to bottom:
1. Rotherham Minster sometime last year.
2. Old church in Heptonstall.
3. The Piece Hall in Halifax.

Nothing fancy, but I really love them all. 😍

Looking for imagery for a website page and came across this cool certificate in the Wellcome Collection online repo. #histsci

I haven't had a chance to go out with my #minievo yet for a proper test, so I printed a few photos from my December trip and I'm sort of loving how they look on #instax film. 😍

My pal George/Georgina of the Cunnery Wood, now looking fab on film!

(I probably shouldn't have touched the brightness, but this still looks good enough as it is. 😆)

First time trying any sort of film #photography with my very basic #instax and just printed this test shot from my phone.

I think I may love it more now. 😍
