Not one word about the people in his district harmed by his cowardly vote. He hides from those who disagree with him & don’t donate to him. He gets his staff to lie to us, telling us he’s working to extend the credits, then votes to let them die. Because he doesn’t think his job’s at risk. It is.

Such a waste of resources, and a horrible precedent to set. They will do anything to distract from the destruction and misery they’ve caused

In Trump’s House, faking obliviousness is the entire job
November 3, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Sorry, I meant on tv. I haven’t seen him. I guess I’m not on the right mailing lists 😂
November 3, 2025 at 3:23 PM
Well, he’s full of crap but at least we know he’s still around somewhere. God knows he isn’t doing his actual job. His office wasn’t even sending automated replies before the shutdown. He’s shaking hands and taking checks from supporters, but not protecting SNAP and Medicaid as he swore he would.

His donors are paying for the optics of a larger crowd. Don’t know whether to be encouraged by that or depressed that they’re throwing more money around. Either way, I hope no one there will be meeting the next governor 😂
Is that even legal, btw?

This notice, like all this administration’s others, is a lie. PBS would do better to state that up front, rather than weakly both-sides elaborating further down the article. The GOP, as usual, is weaponizing aid for optics, and allowing millions to suffer as a result. That should be your headline

I’d be surprised if a single Republican representative held a single in-person meeting for any constituents who weren’t handing them a check or an award.

I couldn’t care less what they eat. I care about their dedication to the Constitution and how they will protect the people of New Jersey. Mikie Sherrill is the only one who will do that. This is a stupid distraction. When NJ.com publishes actual news (that includes South Jersey), I might subscribe.

Think any of our Republican reps will meet with their constituents now that they have all this free time and apparently clear consciences? I called and asked Van Drew this morning, but won’t be expecting an answer. His office doesn’t even auto reply.

And when you have everything to hide from, you lock the House doors.
October 6, 2025 at 2:57 PM
Much more pleasant for him than meeting with people who want answers to hard questions. I’m sure it will help with his fundraising though.
October 5, 2025 at 12:23 AM
We can thank Jeff Van Drew for killing wind power in our state. Republicans as a whole for killing everything else.
September 12, 2025 at 9:34 PM
I did not see him. I’m guessing these appearances were carefully curated to exclude any attendees who might have had uncomfortable questions for him.
September 5, 2025 at 12:35 PM
I hope so, but he hasn’t had a town hall since before he went Republican. My neighbors keep reelecting him. He puts out press releases that are just cut and pastes of the party line.
August 25, 2025 at 11:09 PM
His live constituents here in New Jersey’s 2nd district would love to talk to him. But we aren’t Trump, Newsmax, or big-ticket GOP donors so he can’t be bothered

Thank you Senator Kim

You’re right. My feelings are unimportant in the unending horror Trump has unleashed. That is obvious. I never believed otherwise. I was simply saying that pointing out his national embarrassment was redundant. Please don’t mistake that for my being oblivious to everything else. That is not true.
July 4, 2025 at 1:52 AM
I just meant that we are already very aware that Trump is a disgrace, and don’t need to be reminded of it.
July 4, 2025 at 1:09 AM
Agree, but rubbing salt in the wound is unkind.
July 4, 2025 at 12:54 AM
How can we celebrate a freedom which is being destroyed by our own government? By this time next year both our democracy and PBS may be gone. Perhaps your programming should reflect that.
July 3, 2025 at 11:54 PM
This is so wrong. In every way possible.
