The Deals you have to make... On this Hallowed day, "Abrahel" is finally finished. High-gain & Rat-like, she has two different voices with a smooth switch. Not exactly Smooth Jazz... actually, nothing like Smooth Jazz, but I couldn't stop saying it when building. Designed with low tunnings in mind.

So, I have a few pedalboards that I use. One for bass, one for blues, and my main board, which has a small satellite board that goes with it. Yeah, might have a slight problem. #guitar #guitarpedal #pedalboard

Had a realization last night. Finished up a breadboard design & built the pcb for a pedal. I wired it for testing & it failed. Breadboard to optimized pcb is not my best skill. So, I'm not going to worry about it. I'm going to use my oversized pcbs that work so that I can get a working pedal.

Another blessed event... I made a tube screamer. It's even green, too. Her name is "Lilith" & has a friend with her, "Rusalka", my little boost pedal. The boost is 2nd, but I'm already working on another version where you can choose the order. This one took some time to build.

Happy Church Day! To celebrate, I finished a new pedal, and I thought I'd share. Behold, "Rusalka"... again! "Rusalka" is my MOSFET Boost pedal, but with this version, I've added a Dallas Rangemaster, aka a Treble Boost. A Rangemaster is handy for lower tunnings. #Dogma #guitarpedal #diypedals
Troubleshooting is fun. Sometimes, you find a 22 uF cap where a 2.2 uF cap should go. The other day, when I was getting a 4.7k resistor I needed, I noticed a bag of 4.7m resistors had one missing. Somewhere, something doesn't work quite right. And sometimes, it's just quicker to build a new pedal.

Troubleshooting is fun. Sometimes, you find a 22 uF cap where a 2.2 uF cap should go. The other day, when I was getting a 4.7k resistor I needed, I noticed a bag of 4.7m resistors had one missing. Somewhere, something doesn't work quite right. And sometimes, it's just quicker to build a new pedal.

"Frankie" is finally done. Based on an Oberheim VCF & fueled by my obsession with quirky Dweezil Zappa guitar sounds, I made a clone of a Maestro FSH-1. Of course, this started with Frank Zappa using this effect (see the song "Ship Ahoy").

It was a busy week fueled by toasted coconut coffee & a soundtrack of Dogma & Castle Rat. I finished a new fuzz pedal based on the Doom Bloom Fuzz, revamped a pc board, & built 2 MosFet boost pedals. I am exhausted, hehe.

Thanks. I did (to all three arrays, each with 3 LEDs), & that seemed to help. But I think I know the bulk of the problem. I have a + wire running across & near the exposed legs of some film caps. Just moving the wire helped greatly. Didn't fix it, but I learned next time to wire it differently.

Behold. Finished Single Transistor Fuzz loosely based on a Bazz Fuzz Pedal. Sounds like a dying amp from the 60s, low-end fuzzy, warm, and like the transistor is struggling to hold it together. Think White Stripes.

Today, I did a simple boost pedal. Wouldn't say clean because it's adding a touch of something. Will explore this further. Enclosures are painted. Will finish the pedals later this week. Need a break from breathing solder. #guitar #guitarpedal #diypedal

There's better living in the circuits. Finished this a few days ago. Been waiting for it to be warm enough to finish painting the pedal enclosure. I have this one and another different pedal ready to be completed in the next few days. Wanted more practice before the next one. #guitarpedal #guitar
