Absolutely. Yes some people are in situations because of they don’t take opportunities before them. It does not make them lazy though. Lots of factors can play into it.

We have to teach the good, the bad, and the ugly so we can grow and improve as a nation. Ignoring our past reinforces the conservative belief that people are poor because they are lazy when it’s often a systemic and historic issue due to years of neglect
