Like Formula 1, Arsenal, Masterchef. Hoping this place is kinder than the other place.
Thanks Chris.

I will never forgive myself for forgetting Benicio Del Toro’s name and saying Emilio Eztevez, like it’s Misson Impossible. The lights are blinding and terrifying.

Loved the Mastermind bit. I didn’t expect my question to take on such a life. I went on Mastermind five years ago. James Bond Villains was my subject.

I’ve also been on Pointless, but I’ll leave that for another time.

When Heat is on a list of films to watch, you choose Heat.

Thank you for a great evening Simon. I should have come a long time ago. If you need a reminder of the Pointless/Nymphomaniac story, here it is:

I think her role in Steve Jobs gets overlooked. An excellent foil to Fassbender’s Jobs through all three acts of that film.

Now Paramount are getting involved

Based on what I’ve seen in the cinema

Top 5

1. Weapons
2. Superman
3. F1
4. Saturday Night
5. The Naked Gun

Bottom 5

1. Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning

Everything else was good or meh.

Hate to be that guy, weren’t Trap and Juror #2 released in 2024?

It has to be Doolittle, right? Maybe Rosamund Pike can give RDJ some advice on accents after her villainous turn in Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.

I’m so sorry for your loss Simon.

Farmageddon as it’s a film I’ve appreciate more with every rewatch. What else is to be expected from an Aardman film?

I found Moneyball to be excellent and I don’t really like baseball.

What a great week. I’d say Mark will go for Till or Rye Lane as the smaller films on the list.

Buried is an underrated and understated thriller that doesn’t outstay its welcome. Ryan Reynolds as an Everyman contractor trapped underground showed a different side to the funny guy roles he generally takes on.

Will this preceded by the broadcast of The Traitors at the Proms? Its lack of television broadcast has been apparent.

Out of Africa is an underrated romance. The performances, scenery and score all working in harmony.

I didn’t know there was a Great Gatsby released in 2000. London Has Fallen is completely dire and geographically inept. Best to avoid.

Not sure if the Before Trilogy counts as those span a snapshot of a relationship over three decades.

Men in Black 2. Despite a cracking theme song, not amazing. The central premise for BvS is compelling, but was hampered by the edict to create an universe for DC.

Spider-man: Into the Spiderverse was a huge surprise to me when I saw it in 2018 not knowing anything about it. It’s on rotation with my kids, and I’ll be happy to watch it again.
