Grateful today for aspirin ibuprofen & acetaminophen. Watching/reading from/about historical times and just can’t imagine enduring aches pains without the relief these products provide. Glad there were wise folks who figured out some herbal remedies but still…OUCH!

Grateful today for weather forecasting tools. I joke a lot about weather guessers who remain great at their jobs even they are so wrong a lot of the time. But thank goodness for them. Olden days, farmers were pretty in tune but nothing like the science we have today. Literally, life saving at times.

Grateful today for good books and even not so good books (exception: bad books). Thanks to the authors for the hard work and taking us to new worlds. I’m a fiction fan but this applies to all genres. PS Of course also grateful today for civil rights advancements and giving back to one’s community.

I’m grateful today for something ridiculous-hangovers and hangxiety. Nature’s way of reminding us not to over imbibe. (PS I don’t have a hangover.)

Grateful today for my car. And transportation in general. Reading and watching about Viking times and 150 miles was an incredible feat. Now if one is lucky enough to have transport, it is pretty easy to do 150 miles. I don’t want to take strides in innovation like this for granted. So where to?

Grateful today for good bosses. If you are a boss, never forget the power you wield. Your employee goes home and talks about you. Your kind word can go miles. I’ve had at least 2 and their belief in me was a game changer. So much more to say but that’s the gist.

Grateful today for the longest night so now the days and daylight time 🌅 will officially start getting longer.☀️ (Yes this post is early and yes I’ve read that some places already had their longest night due to some natural phenomena that I have to look up.)

Grateful today for cold weather days. They help us appreciate warm sunny days even more. Lame, I know but this week having a bit of a struggle being grateful.

Feeling silly today so grateful for mittens/gloves. Wow, what a great necessary invention. Walking thru hospital parking lot today, I saw several soaked single gloves on the pavement & felt bad for those who lost them. (Need to invent a mitten keeper and not the string of yarn from olden days. LOL)

Grateful today for rehabilitation - any kind. Went for a walk in a local park and saw 3 stroke victims walking away. Hills and all and two by themselves. Two using walkers and the other had a cane. Boy, was I impressed! and ended my little personal pity party real quick.

Loads of gratitude all week! Grateful today for music/those with musical ability🎶🎼🎵. Seems music transcends everything-culture, education, development, etc. As human as how we breathe or see & can connect us all. No ability here but I still love music and feel touched by a good beat or harmony.

Grateful today for veterans of US and UK armed forces and those currently serving. We celebrated them and expressed our gratitude on the 11th. The observations were a profound reminder of the cost of many of the privileges we enjoy every day. 🪖

Grateful today for the song, Eye of the Tiger. 🎶🎼🎵 By “Survivor” of course! (Rocky III, requested by Stallone and based on movie dialogue, I learned.) Yes random but when I hear it, I get inspired. Rocky had raw talent but the song reminds me that dedicated focused hard work pays off. Motivation!!

Grateful today for democracy. Yes, imperfect in reality but consider the alternative.

Grateful today for rainy days. The recent endless days of sunshine ☀️ have been a wonder for our psyches but are taking a toll on the fauna and crops and critters. So looking forward to a few more rainy days to refresh and renew. 🍃

I am grateful today for mistakes. Yes they stink. But we learn from mistakes. We are better decision makers and sometimes are better people after a mistake. We have stronger bonds with those colleagues who help us get through vs. those who engage in finger pointing or judgment.

Grateful today for opportunity. Many of us have almost endless opportunities - it is just a matter of whether we take advantage of them. Wishful for a world where every living soul feels like they too have opportunities/options.

Grateful today for life. I keep getting caught up in day to day drudgery and forget it is only one per customer with no refills. So with that sobering thought, carpe diem to me (snd everyone)!
